There may be no greater pain for a parent than facing the injury or emotional trauma of a child who has been injured. Parents who lovingly buy their children furniture to keep young children safe often never imagine that playpens, high chairs or cribs will cause a serious injury. Parents assume that children's products sold in stores are safe.

If a defective children's product caused your child to be seriously injured, it is important to act quickly. You have a limited time to file a claim or lawsuit against the designer or the manufacturer, and you should talk with an experienced lawyer as soon as possible.

Children's furniture that is poorly designed, that is not made to proper manufacturing specifications, or does not have sufficient warning labels cause thousands of injuries to children every year. We strive to hold the designers, manufacturers and sellers of dangerous products responsible for the harm they cause.

  • Defective Cribs: Entrapment, suffocation, and falling are the three most common crib hazards, but they aren’t by far the only way a child could be injured, especially if the company has manufactured a crib incorrectly. As a parent, it is extremely important to always stay up-to-date on crib recalls through the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
  • Playpen Defects: Playpens are susceptible to a wide range of defects. The most common and dangerous defect is when a playpen's sides are not sturdy and collapse on the child within, causing serious injury.
  • Highchair Defects: Recently, 100,000 high chairs were recalled by Graco because they were found to be susceptible to collapsing and causing serious child injury. This is just one of the various types of problems with defective high chairs. Others include parts that close and pinch, parts that break easily, and more.

Evenflo is recalling more than 600,000 of its Envision model defective high chairs and expanding the previous recall of Majestic high chairs due to falling and choking hazards. In the Envision model, recline fasteners and metal screws on both sides of the high chair can come loose and fall off. This might cause the seatback to detach or recline unexpectedly. Children can fall backwards or fall out of the high chair and suffer head injuries.

If your child has been injured because of a manufacturing defect, then the product manufacturer could be held liable for your child's injuries. Compensation for serious or catastrophic injuries caused by a defective product could include current and future medical expenses, cost of other treatment and rehabilitation as well as loss of future earnings.
